A true classic,this along with it’s sequel,Grau’s Manchester Morgue and Serrador’s Who Can Kill A Child represent the very best of Spanish horror. Would love to have seen the BBFC’s faces as the slaughter at the end with the kid being drenched in blood unfolded.......

I've had a sneak peek and I'm a bit confused. I used to own this on a US dvd (at one point I sold off most of my dvds to kickstart a blu-ray collection) and I'm pretty sure that I recall it opening with a flashback of a girl tied to a cross. That isn't on this blu-ray so I'm thinking that this is a censored release? Can someone more knowledgeable about the different versions of this film please explain what's going on? btw Found a youtube video of a version of the film with that opening:

The version you've seen was the US version, this is the original Spanish version, I believe the same scenes are in each but in a different order. https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=5198343
