Okay, I'll put my hand up and say I rather like Hammer's adaptation of H. Rider Haggard's She. Peter Cushing, belly dancers, fiery pits and a fountain of youth. What's not to like?

When I was a youngster I used to love Hammer's She, as Daemonia says all that business with the slaves being tossed into a lava pit and Ursula Andress withering away into an ancient hag at the end, was great to me at the time.Admittedly, I haven't watched it in years so my opinion may change on watching it again now.On the subject of Hammer's The Satanic Rites of Dracula, I think it's a great film, one of my fave Hammer horrors.I'd love to see it uncut on DVD or Blu-ray.I remember the first time I ever saw the film was as part of one of the BBC's horror double bills.

I love The Satanic Rites Of Dracula. I really hope this one is going to get a UK BD release.

Satanic Rites certainly does deserve a decent release. All previous releases have been below par and someone really needs to get on the case with this one. A BD would be fantastic. Fingers crossed, eh?

I've always considered Satanic Rites to play out like a twisted episode of the Sweeney - with vampires. That's my take on it, anyway.

Yes indeed! I hope it gets a wash and brush up along with all the other Hammer films for release on Blu-Ray. I've always enjoyed the two "modern day" Christopher Lee Dracula Hammers, although I sometimes confuse one with the other. "Dracula A.D. 1972" - Caroline Munro, and "Satanic Rites of Dracula" - Joanna Lumley. Thats normally the way I try to seperate them. You can see how my mind works with that method!!

I love the idea of "Satanic Rites" being viewed as a twisted Sweeney episode! I can hear Regan bellowing "All right Count, your bleedin nicked sunshine!!".

'We're The Sweeney....and we ain't had no dinner!' *

I'm not surprised you differentiate the two films by their leading ladies - you are Jason King, after all! You smooth lothario, you.

*Yes, it is an actual line from The Sweeney

Totally agree with the above comments. The 'Sweeney / Hammer' combination could have been a disaster but it works brilliantly. We need a BD of this NOW!

At this point, me too! But I'd say if someone is going to make the effort, go the whole hog. It would probably be a wiser move with all the US PD versions available to make it really stand out.
