Fright Night Part 2 (1988)

Opinions on this (sadly) rare sequel to the cult classic Fright Night?

I've not seen it yet due to the fact that it's so expensive to buy, given it's rare value.

In fact, why haven't we had a re-release yet?

I saw part II years ago on VHS, but haven't seen it since.I can remember liking it so I'd be up for a DVD/BD release.I also recall reading up on the making and progress of the film before it was released, in Fangoria. :)

All i remember was it wasn't as good as the first.

As Vampix says it was many years ago now, my opinion may well have changed.

I saw it in very good quality on German TV a couple of years ago. I remember it as great and quite gory, for example there was a scene involving bowling with cut off heads.

It's not as good as the original. It's fun, but the magic is gone. The characters haven't got that spark, it's not as funny and the plot doesn't click nearly as well (Charley believes that the first film's events were a delusion?!!?). Still, that bit with the rollerblading vampire in the school attacking the student is very, very good, quite spooky. If it got a proper widescreen DVD/BD release then I'd get it because despite its problems I do think it's alright.

Be cool if a company like Arrow were to do give it a very nice release.

It's not as good as the original, few sequels are but it's surprisingly solid for a follow-up. I really like it.
