Default the burning special/limited

hi all, just been on the f13 thread and wandered about the burning.
i know there is a special edition, but is there a limited edition or even a 2 disc?
does anybody own this dvd with the original cover from the 80s?
this film needs a 2 disc version,i for one would definately buy it!!!!!
any interesting facts about said film?
apparently tom savini turned down f13 pt2 to work on the burning.
any more?

I really enjoy THE BURNING and would snap up a ultimate 2 disc edition release of it, I have the cut Vipco release and wasn't expecting much (and to my shock it ended up being a fave of mine)

There was a two disc special edition of the burning out
A few years ago called the burning revenge. The first disc contained the uncut version
of the movie while the second disc contained a brilliant
documentary on tom savini entitled scream greats
Volume one. not sure if disc is still available but the savini doc
is featured on the three disc special ed of dawn of the dead
released by arrow awhile back. Hope that bit of info helps

The transfer of the film used on that double disc set is nowhere near as good as the one used for MGM's uncut R1 release.Any fan of The Burning would be better off buying the US edition IMO.

A cut vipco version? Are you sure? The Burning has been available in the UK uncut for years now. That old cut Vipco version is long OOP, and was replaced by the uncut 18 version. Granted the quality isn't any better, so you're better off with the R1 US version until the UK gets a decent release of this little gem!

Strangely enough- despite my huge love for 80's slashers- I've never been a HUGE fan of "The Burning". Mind you, I take it over any of the "Friday the 13th" sequels AFTER Part VII, but overall it's a film which never quite delivers on the premise of its dark opening- for me at least.
