Competition Forbidden World (1982)

... forbidden world is the perfect roger corman b-movie ...

... it's got a great mix of campy sex and gore and the gore is (surprisingly) gratuitous, as is the nudity. seems like they would have had difficulties with the censor. however, there's no mention of censorship problems in director allan holzman's wonderful commentary ...

... director allan holzman nailed this movie. he really captured the tongue in cheek spirit of roger corman's '70s output that was found in flicks like death race 2000, piranha, etc. plus the mutant-monster made me think of corman's little shop of horrors ...

... many thanks to shout! factory for releasing the roger corman's cult classics series ...

I've got the UK DVD of this one, I really must give it a watch. Doesn't seem to have had any censorship problems over here - it's only rated 15!

I got the 2-DVD SE through the post recently, looking forward to giving this a watch.I have seen Forbidden World some years back via the Embassy VHS, I looked out for it after reading about the movie in Chas Balun's Horror Holocaust book.I really enjoyed it's mix of gratuitous female nudity, splatter, cheesy space FX and gut spewing aliens.
From the bowels of the earth they came ... to collect DVDs!
