Doubtful if JEF/BLACKHORSE will go to any bother trying to get any previous cuts waived....

It was Blackhorse that submitted the uncut Tenement/Game of Survival to the BBFC in 2005. It was previously banned in 1987 when a cut version was submitted.

Yes you're right of course, Reaps. Haven't seen the film but looking at the comments Vince made about it here it does seem unlikely that a single cut would be waived. Nevertheless it will be fascinating to see if they actually re-submit the uncut version. I think they should have chosen FEROX instead as a lot of the cuts in that would be waived today but like you say it's probably all about cashing in on the forthcoming remake.

If the BBFC allow quick kills then you cant get much quicker than getting your head cut of or shot.
Could they not pass the turtle getting its head chopped off and remove or trim the disembowling.?
Although the creature is still moving its clearly dead, much like a chicken does after its head gets cut off , it runs about, and the BBFC have allowed that in films.
Same with the monkey, quick death after it gets its head cut off like an egg. Quick kill and eaten.
Pig, the kick was not to be cruel but to line it up for a clean shot.
All deaths much quicker than US or Euro slaughterhouse footage that the BBFC have passed.
I think the BBFC could at least look at these scenes again as they passed the slicing open and heart removal of a large lizard in VIPCO's UK version of Cannibal god and imho that was more cruel than the above as it wasn't killed for food but for luck.
OR
Is it also possible the rights could have been bought for a future BluRay release as I imagine Holocaust's companion piece will probably get a BluRay release as well as a DVD release .?
As BluRay is an untapped market for this sort of film im sure a decent Hi Def release would sell well, even in cut form.
If Sony get the hardcore collectors of horror, sci fi to support the format it would certainly put more BluRay players / PS3's in homes , plus sell more BluRay discs as genre collectors will spend more of their money, on a regular basis compared to the casual Blockbuster film fan which BluRay seems to have been initially aimed at.
A couple of high profile titles could make alot of money on this format.

Cannibal Holocaust loses nothing in the way of narration with the removal of all the animal scenes, as the superior Grindhouse SE release proves.

The BBFC very rarely waive animal cruelty cuts, Vipco, so the chance of them waiving any of the cuts to HOLOCAUST would be extremely remote. I would imagine the sexual violence cuts would have more chance of passing today.
