Friday the 13th was from 1980 while the Evil Dead came later I think. It's a tough one. Probably The Burning. The Beyond that was from '81 wasn't it? I was gonna say Creepshow but that came out '82.

The best horrors of 1981, in my opinion, have to be: The Evil Dead and An American Werewolf in London.
Evilspeak, The Burning, My Bloody Valentine, The Prowler, The Beyond and The Howling are all good too though.
