"Henry" wins it hands down for me. I first saw it at an arts centre when it first came out and sat there in slack jawed amazement as it unfolded across the cinema screen. It's also one of the few horror films Mrs MTDS likes. Cronenberg is one of my top 3 directors but "The Fly" did nothing for me. I'm not sure why.

Probably have to go with The Fly as well, worried about the idea of Cronenberg remaking his remake as what is wrong with this film, no need for another remake!

From Beyond is a good watch and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is one of the best and most chilling portrayals of a mass killer ever made but I'd have to go with Cronenberg as The Fly is such a brilliant film that stands up to repeated viewing more than any other horror film from this year.

I can't remember which book I read it in, but someone said David Cronenberg was the best horror director since James Whale and I would tend to agree with that.

I feel the same, it was a bit of a chore to sit through without nodding off occasionally.Tom Savini's make-up FX were brilliant though (particularly Grandpa) which makes the film worth sticking with imo.

Jason Lives, The Final Chapter and Friday the 13th Part 2 are my favourites amongst the F13 sequels.
