The artwork i posted is from a film in which Cox plays a widower who lives alone with his beloved dog. Said dog is then brutally killed by some youths whilst on a fishing trip. Cox then sets out to get the youths and their father, played by Tom Sizemore to apologize for their actions.

Its not a Brian Cox is Dolph Lundgren, revenge flick. I found it quite moving in places, and found myself with grit in my eye at times.
What are the chances of one actor being in two completely different films with exactly the same title?!

I do recognise that synopsis even though I haven't seen the film. It does sound good so, onto the Lovefilm rental queue it goes!

Flowers of Flesh and Blood for me. Not because it's a great narrative, I think it's beauty lies in the fact that there is no narrative beyond what you imagine. Why is he in a Samurai suit? What's that song all about? Great stuff, and considering the distribution level and budget, the dismemberment effects are incredible.

Henry.

Saw it at the Triangle arts cinema in Aston, Brum.

Very dark, very nasty. No punches pulled. Saw several people get up and leave during the film. Don't know if they found it boring, slow or a bit too dark for them, but I was riveted. To see such evil being carried out in such a nonchalantly way was something I'd never seen before. And never since, to be honest.

Acted impeccably by Michael Rooker.

While I love From Beyond, how can I possibly choose it over The Fly. Like The Thing, another amazing remake.

The Fly is one of my favorite movies of all-time, not just one of my favorite horrors of 1986. Jeff Goldblum is awesome.

Gothic.

One mad psychedelic trip, with an outstanding Timothy Spall.

Greetings!

That's on my list of unwatched discs, and a film I haven't yet seen.

I have that and Lisztomania to watch and I think that's just about every Ken Russell film available. There may be more, but that's something to check out and talk about in a different thread.
