I saw it a while ago and thought it was really strange (in a good way) in some parts and really stupid (in a bad way) in others. It has its moments and is well worth watching, but I don't think American Gothic is a classic or a film I will ever consider to be one of my favourites. Maybe it needs another watch?

By no means a classic, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Certainly stands out from some of the more universally appraised film from this year at any rate.

Is there no love for Stan Winston's Pumpkinhead? I thought the monster design was great, as was the creepy old witch, "Haggis".Some of the set designs were also very impressive, and I liked the atmosphere Winston created for the film. These elements more than made up for the lack of blood & guts imo.

Lair of the White Worm is a great choice, but for me Dick Maas is one of the unsung heroes of European trash,so I'll go for Amsterdammed!
