Someone Put a Statue of Jason Voorhees in a Minnesota Lake For Divers to Stumble Across - Dread Central "Remember the end of Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives where Megan and Tommy manage to trap Jason in the bottom of Crystal Lake? Well, it seems that some random person has recreated this scene by planting a Jason statue, complete with mask and machete, 120 feet deep in a Minnesotan lake that is supposedly very popular with divers! Having been down in the water, the statue has developed a worn, algae-covered appearance that almost makes it seem all the more lifelike. My only complaint is that it looks very rigid, like it’s clearly a mannequin or some sort of statue. But that’s such a small gripe when you stop and realize that someone put a freakin’ Jason Voorhees statue in the bottom of a lake! The statue was planted in 2013 and, as such, has gone through some wear and tear over the years. In the first video below, you can see the statue looking pretty solid. The second video, however, shows what a few years of water can do to the installation."

There all sort of interchangable after about 3. Still an easy and enjoyable 90s minutes of mindless killing though lol

I'm re-watching them and surprised I forgot how good Part III was. Defo better than Part II, which one week ago I would have never said. Dana Kimmell is amazing and her final chase with Jason is easily the best in the franchise. And it has Shelly, the bikers (how evil are they badasses, kicking over stacks of hay and all that haha Jason doesn't stand a- oh wait) and some amazing kills.

Friday 4 then. This might just be the perfect slasher film, to the point where I think its better than the original Halloween There are few bad things to nit-pick. There's a couple of continuity errors (if Tina's body isn't on the porch when Rob and Trish go to the house, how is it there when Trish leaves? Jason had no time to leave the basement and move the body there as Rob was in the way) and you didn't need to see the aftermath of Terry's death but i'm scraping the bottom of the barrel: everything else just works. . The opening montage. Perfect best hits collection and brings you fully up to date. . The scenes at Higgins Haven (even laughable stuff like the tiny "evidence bag" they stuff they stuff the axe into gets my thumbs up). One of the most atmospheric moments of the entire Franchise is when all the ambulance and police crews drive away from the area and leave it in darkness. . Axel the Coroner guy "Jesus Christmas! Holy Jesus Goddamnit! Holy Jesus jumping Christmas S$%$!" and his death scene (and that workout video he's watching: wtf?!?). . Tommy Jarvis. A kid that can fix things most adults can't. . The group of friends, who I think are the best expendable meat in the franchise. But see the thing is unlike certain other characters I don't want these people to die. They are well acted (McFly) and bounce off well with each other. I also like how the under-dogs of the bunch get laid and have the best time whilst the alleged professionals all fail. . The banter. Teddy and his computer. Jimbo the dead f$%$. . Rob Diers entrance: Scares Tommy and he's just like "hi Rob Dier". I JUST SCARED YOU oh and here's my name." Also I love the way he says "whats your problem" to Trish and her offended reaction. Its a little thing but its funny. . Tommy's insane bedroom. Some of those masks are genuinely professional. Guy is a mini-Tom Savini. Speaking of which- . Tom Savini! This guy wanted to be here for the final Friday film (whoops) and ensured it went out with a bang in the effects department. . The skinny dipping scene. I like how it has both male and female nudity, there's something here for everybody. And the dialogue from McFly is hilarious "Oh... Noo… No we- we have no suits!". The way this guy delivers what should be perfectly normal sentences in such a funny way shows how good an actor he is, I'm not surprised he went far afterwards, especially when everybody gets blown away by- . The Crispin Glover dance. If anything attracted the attention of Tina from everybody else it was that god-damn dance. Simply ground-breaking and I've never seen anything like it . "wanna give Teddybear a kiss" Smooth but it doesn't match the aforementioned dance skills. I do find the bit where he has his hand sticking out his crotch (and then with the motion he does with his hand to the horrified twin) absolutely hilarious. This is what the other three were missing, every second or third scene in this has little things in it that helps the film step up its game. . McFly Presents Tina's underwear to Ted "why don't you run this through your computer Teddy Bear.". Also "Ted where's... Where's that uh that corkscrew that fancy corkscrew for the winebottle? Ted? Ted? HEY TED HEY WHERE THE HELLS THE CORKSCREW?!?" Again, I don't know if this would work if it wasn't for Crispin Glovers delivery. Also it turns out Jason had the corkscrew: great brutal death. . The actor playing Ted was genuinely high when he's watching the black and white porn. It's not a good choice for aspiring actors (he basically says in the documentary don't do it) but here it works. . The final act. It, I must admit, isn't quite up there here with the final chase in Part III but that's not saying much: this still has a lot going for it. It's certainly better than Parts I and II. Rob's death is more disturbing as opposed to graphic "oh god he's killing me", its really not nice to watch or listen too. . Jason busting through the door. He's perfected the technique. . Jason choosing whether to chase either Trish or Tommy. Nice touch. Lasts a few seconds only but again its things like this which make it stand out. Also take a look at Jason's hands in this one. Look at those claws (which he didn't have on the day before on Saturday the 14th when Part III took place but I don't care its a nice touch. They also don't explain how his clothes changed either but its a Friday the 13th movie, should I care? It's not like its William Hartnell's clothes changing when he regenerates into Patrick Troughton in Power of the Daleks, what was up with that?) . Jason is running. Now I'm not a fan of the remake but on saying that its absurd to hear people criticise it because "why is Jason running, Jason doesn't run" Um did these people even see Parts II, III and this one? . Tina really does a number on his hand with the machete and stands up to him really well. Following that I like the way they take him down, very reminiscent of Part II with Ginny and the sweater. . You could've ended it with Tommy destroying Jason with the machete but we get a hospital scene with him and Trish afterwards where they imply he may be the next killer. Oh well, that open ending I'm sure will be explained at the end of Part V when they repeat the exact same ending , which i'm sure will then be explained in Part VI as opposed to being ignored and never referenced again Like I said before I was surprised when Part III was better than Part II despite previously thinking otherwise but Part IV was always my favourite and that hasn't changed. I love this movie to bits and its as flawless as a Friday film can be. Probably the best 80's slasher film and quite possibly my favourite overall, with only the likes of My Bloody Valentine (original), Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street (Original) and Hatchet II challenging it. I remember liking Part V, I've watched it at least a dozen times along with them all back in the day (except Part IX which I still don't have) but I know its going to be a major step down from this one... Oh and if you want a laugh, please consider watching the movie with the fan commentary from directors Joe Lynch and Adam Green (who speaking of Hatchet II directed that one). It's better than the directors commentary. |

I've read a few comments online, I think backed up by the commentaries, which say that Crispin Glover was dancing to AC/DC's 'Back in Black' on set. That piece of music was dubbed over with 'Love Is a Lie' on the film, making the rhythm and movements look so weird!

All Gothmogxx's talk of Crispin Glover and Mcfly throughout his review. I thought he was on about Back to the Future. |

McFly is utterly adorable in IV and I would definately take him home to meet my mum That review has given me inspiration to break into the BluRay set I bought and then promptly shelved for later viewing
