TEN years since this thread was started guys!
Maybe you all voted a long time ago, can't remember and have changed opinions a decade later?

For instance,I used to HATE part V,but now find it one of the most enjoyable installments.

I voted for the first, which is still the one I think is the best and the one I would watch over any other.

I think it's fair to say Part I probably has the most atmosphere and (hides behind sofa) I do prefer it to Halloween. On saying that though it's no match for the masterpiece that is Part IV. From a ranking point of view it's probably about even with Part III, depends on my mood where I place them. If I want atmosphere then Part I but if I want Dana Kimmell kicking ass, then its Part III.

Part V as I suspected was just average. It's not necessarily a bad film (although casual film goers not on Cult Labs may beg to differ, we're all biased after all given we love the whole thing as a franchise and have seen all the sequels) but so far its just okay. I'm not judging it based on how blatantly censored it is (in all honesty whilst its not my favourite, I'd rather have the footage found for this film than in any of the others, with the only real exception being the double spear kill in Part II), its just not as fun as Part IV, as atmospheric and Part I, creepy like bag-sack Jason in Part II or doesn't feature a good final chase like in Part III. Some of the scenes do make me laugh though, anything with the hillbilly family for instance, or when Joey gets killed by Victor just because even knowing what's going to happen, it still feels like it comes out of nowhere.

I'd love to have seen Tommy have a real fight with "Jason" in this though as opposed to just standing there and getting macheted, cause he kicks both Eddie and Juniors asses! Part II Jason would have gotten destroyed by those fighting skills!

Its decentish as a Friday movie though, but not very memorable. I loved Part VI though so I'm buzzing for that one "Okay flash, into the cage!".

Never been my favourite franchise but with all this talk ordered the blu ray set, found a eBay UK seller which had it for £30.

It's gotta be part 3 for me! it's got everything you want in a F13 movie, forest setting, campy over the top acting, Jason getting some pretty decent kills, good direction and Cine, a decent enough ending AND the choice to watch it in eye popping 3d!

If I was going to rank the original 8 though I'd probably go:

Part 3
Part 5
Part 4
Part 7
Part 8
Part 2
Part 1
Part 6
trebor8273 and nosferatu42 like this.

They may not be the best ones, but at least the film-makers were trying something different
