My favourite is part 8, Jason Takes Manhattan.

I think the first films, set in the woods, suffered from banal direction.

With part 8, the franchise eventually seems to have been given to a director who knew what he was doing.

It would have been better if Jason had actually taken Manhattan. His 'taking' of Manhattan amounts to a couple of minutes wandering around Manhattan, but he hardly 'takes' it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it as much as any other film in the series, but the title kind of suggests you're going to get more than you do.

For me, Part 6 is my favourite. It just works for me better than the others do.

... I think next time there is a wedding I'm going to break that awesome dance out!

And awesome it is too. Glover invents dance moves I've never seen before or since! But the real great moment is after he finally gets laid, he's in an almost religious state of ecstasy. Then Jason spoils the moment with a corkscrew.

Aaah...there's something immensely satisfying about watching an unstoppable killing machine hacking his way through annoying teens. It makes me feel all warm inside.

Number 6 is my fave. The best plot and the most fun to watch, although number 8 was incredibly good fun too. Especially when he punches a guys head clean off into a garbage bin, the most memorable death in all the films in my opinion

The most memorable death for me, with the benefit of hindsight, is Kevin Bacon's arrow-through-the-throat in the first film. Memorable in that he has become such a big star and that it makes me laugh every time I see him in a big movie to think of him getting offed by Jason's mother.
