Well thanks to Jim Corrupt ... my evening last night, could be best described as 'restless'.

August Underground's Mordum really stuck with me, in a bad way. If anything it was morbid curiosity to stick with the film.

But really stuck with me during my sleepless night ... didn't know what to think after I viewed it.

Anyway you look at it, in it's ****ed up form it is ... 'art'.

It's exploitation horror in it's purest form.

Defiantly something to be viewed once, but can't see why it would warrant a second viewing.

very disturbing images!

Nowhere near as messed up as Mordum at all.
Booo ToeTag booo!
I quite liked Penance, thought it was a better 'film' than it's predecessors (If you can call it that ) must admit, the first time I watched it I did find it a tad boring (though you kind of get used to that with AU films) but it really grew on me after repeated viewings. It has a lot more depth than the other two (again, if you can call it that). The gradual breakdown of Vogel and Whiles characters is quite compelling in its own twisted, car crash kind of way I thought.

I've seen Mordum three times now and it never seems to lose its effect. It's gotta be without doubt the most extreme film ever made, I've certainly never seen anything else like it. I've yet to see Slaughtered Vomit Dolls which ive heard is quite extreme aswell but I doubt it's even in the same league as Mordum.

I wouldn't bother with Redsin Tower, it really is a terrible film. OK, the Au films aern't exactly masterpieces but they're effective enough and acheive what they set out to do. Redsin on the ohter hand is just a poorly made low budget horror which, aside from a couple of nasty scenes here and there, fails on every level. The characters and dialogue are cringe inducingly cliched and the plot's confused and badly put together. I was really interested to see how Vogel handled a 'proper' film but after seeing it I was seriously disappointed, anyone else seen it?

Oooh

Some priceless comments.
Unsurprising
It's a gruelling watch. Or ... imagine if you will Videodrome 'for real' ... you can't look away. Cthulhu knows what a BD would sound like ... thankfully there's no sign of that on the horizon ...

Up there with Philosophy Of A Knife really.
