Hoping to reignite this thread here. Nos, have you got round to rewatching Amer? I find that it's one of those films that improves with every watch, and seems to feel far more coherent when you just let it wash over you rather than trying to overthink it like I did with my first viewing of it.

I watched it (I think) twice in order to write my review but haven't had a chance to watch it since then. If I have time, I want to watch it this week and see if it feels fresh like when I saw it the first time or whether the memories come flooding back and it feels like a third (or fourth) time.

Make sure to post any fresh thoughts you may have on it after watching again. It's a really difficult film to encourage others to watch as I know if they're unfamiliar with giallo, then amer is likely to come across as utter nonsense, as I found part of the joy of the film was spotting the references.

Upon my first viewing of Amer, I was very ambivalent - I thought the first part was great, but the rest seemed quite tedious and pretentious. The film has since grown on me, it still has elements which are a little irritating but overall it is a nice experimental homage, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the directors do next. I rate this film 3.5/5.

I really did not like this film at all. Am a big fan of giallo but I just thought that Amer was too prententious. I know people can argue that it's an aural/visual delight and I tried to view it that way but for whatever reason it just didn't click with me at all.

To be honest I feel that it is extremely overrated but look, that's just my opinion and how you films is subjective anyway.

Amazing flick. I imported this from the UK and am so glad I did. My wife was sort of ho-hum about it but I loved it. I probably should have broken her into Giallo flicks a little more gently...

While Amer has only just been released here in the States, I'm hoping to rally more folk to its cause with a recent interview I did with the directors!

Link below, if anyone wishes to check it out!
Thanks!

Watched this on Blu Ray last night and was left speechless. An excellent tribute to Giallo.

PS
There is a great poster and sleeve notes inside the box.
