Default EDEN LAKE 2008 James Watkins

Another Brit shocker which is a harrowing piece of cinema.
Christ, are we getting brutal or what?
Jenny and Steve take a trip to a remote lake in which Steve intends to propose.....enter the chavs, and to put it mildly, all hell breaks loose as events escalate out of control.

Like KILL LIST,there's no light relief here whatsoever, and beware.
That urge to lift a weapon and go out and crack some chavs/neds skulls after watching?
Don't do it,this is only a movie.
The sad thing is though, that it reflects the state of the nation with scum depicted here that actually exist.....

AKA Last Chav On The Left.

I wasn't hugely impressed with it but it's gruelling stuff and definitely does what it says on the box. Ferman would have had a field day with this film.

I reckon he'd have banned it or cut it to the point that it was unwatchable...
Gruelling stuff indeed.

I've read in a few rags that the ending was nonsensical.Far from it imo,it just added to the emotional impact of what had went before,Saw this at the flicks when it was on general release, and without doubt, possibly the best cinema experience of last year, although it most certainly aint a feel good movie.

My Mrs, who doesn't normally go for extreme cinema has showed an interest in this one. I'm guessing it will shock her quite a bit. It's on my rental list but I may get impatient and go to my local Blockbusters if it doesn't arrive within a few weeks.

"Deliverance" and "Sraw Dogs" are favs of hers. She has a soft spot for psycho thrillers too, but she doesn't really go for gory horror in general.
