This is the only reason why I won't buy the R1!

I think INSIDE was cut by 7 minutes to obtain an R rating for theatrical purposes in the US.

Then Dimension Extreme decided it wasn't worth releasing such a heavily cut film theatrically, so put it straight out onto DVD - uncut and unrated.

Philleh, I agree the cover artwork is terrible. But don't let that put you off - you get the film, fully uncut, in it's original language with optional English subtitles (there's also an English dubbed version if you prefer) and an hour-long Making Of documentary. Also, the cover comes with a shiny slipcase which suddenly makes it look a little better. Honestly, look beyond the cover and buy it for the great film/disc!

I just saw Martyrs the other night up London. Boy was that a hard film to watch! It's just so relentless and disturbing. This is by far the most extreme of the new french horror films (more so than Inside!). I guess you could call this the Cannibal Holocaust of today as it truly is a VERY disturbing film. I kept asking myself why the hell i was watching it, in fact, why the hell do I watch horror at all?!

Anyone else seen this film yet?

I'm looking forward to seeing this when it's released on DVD next month. Inside was excellent.

Both, "Martyrs" and "Inside", belong to my most cherished modern horror flicks!

I saw Martyrs in Leeds last November and I thought it was all the things you said, don't like it, it gets a bit boring for the last half of the film
