Question Your Favourite Horror Film from 2007

2007 was a year for some decent horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated?

Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 2007 is...

[Rec] - Jaume Balagueró & Paco Plaza

The film that in my opinion uses the 'POV steady-cam' to best effect, [Rec] is not only an effective shocker, but is simple yet engaging at the same time.

Trailer:

Runners Up:
1408
28 Weeks Later
30 Days of Night
Dead Silence
Inside
The Mist
Mother of Tears
Planet Terror
Trick 'r Treat

Thought so - that's my fave. I was really surprised how good it was (although not as good as the original)

just looking back at this.

2007 had some pretty outstanding films

[REC], Planet Terror, Inside, The Mist, Dead Silence, Mother of Tears, the superb Trick r' Treat, 28 Weeks Later.

In years to come it may even be looked on as a vintage year.

[REC] or Inside. Can't separate them. Mulberry Street deserves and honourable mention.

Dead Silence was by far the worst film (of any genre) I have seen from that year!

Don't know why people love Mulberry Street so much. I hated it. I even watched it a second time a few months later and still hated it.

[REC], although it only just pips The Mist, which I thought was superb. The B & W version on the BD is a thing of beauty too.

HOnourable mentions for 30 Days of Night and Trick R'Treat as well.

Great year!

"Trick r Treat" for me, near perfection in a tiny package.
