yes irreversible starts with the butcher character from noe's first films carne and i stand alone. so watch em in that order..

carne
i stand alone
irreversible
enter the void

also notice irreversible ends with a 2001 poster, and then enter the void is noe's 'trip' film. i see that as link although i'm not certain it's intentional. sorry to add to that pile kyle! (un?)fortunately you could watch noe's entire oeuvre in a day. there's a couple of shorts aswell but i think you can skip those, like we f**k alone might have been good if it was 2 minutes long but as it is it's pretty silly and a bit pointless.

I'm yet to see Enter The Void, or Irreversible for that matter

I think the French have put out some excellent films in recent years, but the one that tops the list for me has to be Martyrs. First time I watched I felt it had been over-hyped to feck, but repeated viewings it left a huge impact on me and would regard it a firm favourite of mine now.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Divide.
Satan - good for a laugh
Calvaire - not French but still a good little movie
The Horde - hmm didn't rate it much, but perhaps I should re-watch while not so inebriated

My colleague has been covering French extreme cinema in a lot of detail, part three not up yet but a shameless plug for anyone who cares A Look

Not quite as gory as the films already listed, but still very shocking.
