I'm in the minority with this one then because it did nothing for me. By the time anything interesting happened the main characters had done so many stupid things that I was out of the film and could never get back into it. Plus, I think the ending was a good idea that was poorly executed (I'd explain further but I don't want to give away what happens to anyone who hasn't seen it).

To each their own, but I found this one a real disappointment when I saw it.

I didn't think much of it either.

Everyone to their own, IMHO this is the best British shocker since THE DESCENT.....

I thought The Descent was great fun.

My review of the UK DVD...

I agree. Fassbender was such an asshole, trying to act the hero that it took me right out of the film as well. Not that the protagonists weren't little shits or anything but I had to wonder what the **** he was thinking.

I think it tried a wee bit too hard as well. It's ultra grim in so far as there really is no light at the end of the tunnel, but it's just too over the top, which is probably cool for others, but left me cold.

Still, it was enjoyable enough.

I finally saw this and I have to say I thought it was OK. It was far less sensationalistic than I was expecting after all the fuss. I certainly wouldn't go as far as saying it is the best Brit horror since (*Insert film of prefference here*) as I'm not even sure I'd even class this as horror. Frightening social comment perhaps.......?

I know this thread is a good few tears old but there seems to be a lot of negative views on the film. I really enjoyed it and the use of the sort of scum that live in every town or city made it more effective because we all hate these people and if you dont then maybe you are one of those people

I loved it. Thought it genuinely unnerving.

Must admit i've only watched it the one time because i didn't want future viewings to negate it's impact.
