Default Phantasm 5: World of the Dead (TBA)

Yup, apparently Anchor Bay have financed the 5th instalment to be directed by Don Coscarelli. Now this is one I've been waiting years to see! We need a wrap-up chapter and have our questions answered! Let's hope this really does happen.

I remember watching part 2 i think it was on Sky in about 91, what a weird film, a villain who`s about 7 foot, flying things that slice your head open and a really weird looking bald hero. Aye those were the days lol

I hope this is true as I love the Phantasm films and may speed up a release of all the movies on Blu Ray.

I've only seen Phantasm and half of Phantasm 2, had to turn it off because of the narration, I don't mind one person narrating a film, but 2/3? can't remember how many, annoyed me. I'll probably give it another try sometime and seek out the sequels, loved the first one though

I saw Phantasm II at the cinema and it was brilliant and has been a firm favourite ever since. I then went and sought out the first one on VHS and rented it. I'd heard of it but never seen it - and after catching Part 2 at the flicks I just had to see the first one.

Part 3 is a bit hit-and-miss and Part 4 is just out-and-out muddled. Coscarelli really needs to tie up all the loose ends.

In spite of 3 and 4 not being quite as good as the first two, I love the whole series nonetheless. So a Part 5 will be most welcome.

I was never allowed to rent the first one as a kid because of the cover, my mum thought it would contain too much sex for a 12 year old to watch, so I didn't get to see it until I was old enough to rent it myself ha ha

One of my all-time favorite franchises. Back in my serious writing days I had always wanted to tackle a Phantasm script.

Oohh. This seem's to make me one of the few people who has never seen any of them. I hear SF are releasing PII on BD so I was going to check them out before then, but i'll be going to see this even if I dont.

I like them all bar phantasm 3. There was far too much humour in this one, didn't work for me, cheesy and not on a good way but I think phantasm 4 oblivion is underrated. The way that footage from the original is incorporated into the story is very clever and does kind of provide some closure to the series. Having said that I'll definitely see a fifth film.
