I thought i'd list which remakes i think are better than the originals in all genres.

3:10 to Yuma (2007)
Blood Diner (1987)
Cape Fear (1991)
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Death Race (2008)
A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
The Fly (1986)
Heat (1995)
The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
House Of Wax (2005)
Body Snatchers (1993)
Laughing Gravy (1931)
The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)
My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009)
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Scarface (1983)
Straw Dogs (2011)
The Thing (1982)
Thir13en Ghosts (2001)
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
The Wicked Lady (1983)

One or two controversial choices i'm sure. It's just my opinion though. I'm sure i've missed things.

Doing a charity shop run, I got a Bollywood film called 'Kaante' (2002):

"To pull off the perfect heist, six strangers come together and have to learn to trust one another. But when a simple robbery goes wrong, they realize that someone in their midst must be an undercover cop."

'Reservoir Dogs' anyone???

Don't forget the magnificent seven, a film that takes seven samurai and improves it a great deal.
