Lobos de Arga aka Attack of the Werwolves (2011) Here is a movie that needs more love, despite its rather generic title, it is actually a very smart Spanish horror comedy that harks back to 'American Werewolf in London', as though it never left the town in the opening. For once a horror comedy that doesn't need to be self referential and a modern horror that doesn't rely on CGI effects, in fact all the werewolf action here is good old fashioned practical magic. There is a good looking, even if barebones, UK release on DVD and BR - no American release at all for some reason. I have written a full, illustrated review - Lobos de Arga review

Good movie indeed, enjoyed it a lot. The fact that the comedy only involves the human characters and not the wolfmen helps to maintain the tone. |
