Default Honeymoon (2014) - Official Announcement

Hi everyone,

Here's a horror film that you will absolutely love! Following a couple as their Honeymoon turns ugly, evil forces are at work in this cross between Evil Dead and Anti-Christ! Check out the below info on it...

HONEYMOON

On DVD & Blu-Ray from Monday 26th Jan. 2015

Honeymoon
is the new visceral horror film from Arrow Films starring two of Britain's best young talents; the critically acclaimed Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie and Penny Dreadful's Harry Treadaway. Featuring the directorial debut from Leigh Janiak, Honeymoon was one of the most talked about films of 2014.

Key talent:

Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones)

Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful)

Directed by Leigh Janiak

Synopsis:

Young newlyweds Paul (Treadaway) and Bea (Rose Leslie) travel to remote lake country for their honeymoon, where the promise of private romance awaits them. Shortly after arriving, Paul finds Bea wandering and disoriented in the middle of the night. As she becomes more distant and her behavior increasingly peculiar, Paul begins to suspect something more sinister than sleepwalking took place in the woods.

Treadaway and Leslie give captivating leading performances as a couple that takes new love to disturbing depths. With romance slowing giving way to terror, writer/director Leigh Janiak puts her unique stamp on this intimate, chilling thriller.

You'll Love It Because...

The film creates an atmosphere of suspense unlike any horror film in the last few years. Reminiscent of such critically acclaimed films as Under the Skin and Anti Christ, the film taps into very basic human fears and boasts fantastic, realistic performances from two of the UK's best young talents. Honeymoon is a must for fans of horror and high quality cinema.

This movie is well worth watching. Don't get put off by the fact that the first half hour is relationship building; basically the two leads getting off with each other and talking. Patient watching pays off later.
It's a slow burn but creepy as hell. It won't be for everyone, but it ticks some boxes with regard to body horror. I don't want to go into too much detail because I went into it knowing nothing. That worked in the movie's favour.

I couldn't agree more with wayfarer's review. I'm constantly recommending this one to anyone looking for a good horror movie outside of the Hollywood mainstream.

I found HONEYMOON to be extremely effective -- so much that I've been calling it my favorite American-made horror film since THE MIST. It's a disturbing look at modern marriage, a film that asks, "Can you ever really know someone, even someone with whom you plan to spend the rest of your life?" Creeeeepy stuff.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered, just a few days after I saw this one, that it was filmed 5 minutes from where I work. I've actually been in that lake a few times, when I was a kid.
