Competition Announcement: The Contracted

Here's a new horror movie that will make you cross your legs! STD Horror for the win!

What do you think of this?

-------------------------------------------

Contracted Phase I

"If Jaws was the film that made people never want to go into the water again, Contracted is the one that will make them think twice before having sex." - James Shotwell, Under The Gun Review

Having premiered at Film4 FrightFest 2014, this part zombie part body-horror tells the story of a woman who contracts an infection from hell! It’s the film that Shock Til You Drop said has “reinvented the zombie film” and “wants to disturb you”, while Under The Gun said it’s “all the makings of an insta-classic wrapped up in a beautifully morbid tale”. Prepare to be shocked by this smart, stomach-churning shocker!

Key talent:

Starring
Najarra Townsend (The Toy Soldiers, What Now, TV’s Breakfast Buddies)
Katie Stegeman (Madison County, Roadside)
Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Halloween II, Hatchet III)
Simon Barrett (V/H/S, You’re Next, A Horrible Way To Die)

Writer & Director
Eric England (Roadside, Madison County)

Synopsis:

After a lapse in her relationship with her lover (Katie Stegeman) forces twenty-something party girl Samantha (Najarra Townsend) to move back in with her overbearing mother (Caroline Williams), things seem to be at an all-time low. But the devil-may-care Samantha soon finds escape in a one-night stand with a mysterious man (Simon Barrett) who leaves her hung-over, guilt-ridden and infected.

Uncertain of the disease or the man who gave it to her, Samantha attempts to hide it from her loved ones. But she soon realises that she is not just the victim but rather the host of something much more catastrophic, and that she and those around her are in mortal danger.

You'll Love It Because...

It’s rare to see a horror movie that genuinely shocks, and from the very first scenes Contracted Phase I promises something truly disturbing. It amps up the body horror like you’ve never seen before, with new levels of ickiness –gushing blood, rotting body parts and maggots in unpleasant places.

Not only is this a fusion of the zombie and body horror movie, it’s also a slick satire on the social fears surrounding sex and human mortality. It’s a taboo-busting, skin-crawling experience that will satisfy even the most bloodthirsty of horror fans, while still having the intelligence to do something entirely new.

Brilliantly put together by writer-director Eric England, Contracted Phase I also boasts an excellent cast who bring to life characters that in other horror movies would be two-dimensional.

Continuing the work of genre greats like David Cronenberg and George A Romero, Contracted Phase I is the next stomach-churning chapter in biological horror!

Contacted Phase I comes to DVD from Monday 31st Aug. 2015 and for download from Monday 31st Aug. 2015. Click here to pre-order yours.
