Although I have to admit to being initially quite perturbed at the thought of this remake, it does sound like they are putting some serious thought behind it; my only misgivings are Colin Farrell and David Tenant. I've never been a big fan of Farrell - he just comes across as a one trick pony to me and has basically made a career playing the same character since Ballykissangel - and although I have been a fan of David Tennant since Rab C Nesbitt and Taking Over The Asylum (with Ken Stott), I am having trouble seeing him pull off this role.

As a side note, I can picture someone like Michael Sheen in the role of Dandridge, but that obviously isn't the sort of 'look' the producers are going for.

not looking forward to this at all, would much rather have seen a Fright Night 3 come out with original remaining cast (obviously minus the amazing but late Roddy Mcdowell) and have some to play peter vincent's relative (even though i think David Tennant is a great actor, Corey Feldman would have played a great nephew or grandson).

But as usual...hollywood can't come up with new horror ideas so they make another pointless remake we could all do without.

You hate Cronenberg's The Fly and Carpenter's The Thing?

Looks as though Chris Sarandon is making an appearance in this:

and apparently a cameo from Chris Sarandon that will link everything back to the previous film

I think that it is safe to say that David Tennant's Peter Vincent is about as far removed from Roddy McDowell's as can possibly be imagined:
