I suppose if you're just a casual film viewer watching one of these remakes and you don't look into what it's all about then it won't make you aware of the original. It must surely make one or two people curious though I'd have thought.

REMAKE. This word should be banned. I thoroughly dislike it. A remake of Suspiria. Yeah, sure. What's next? A remake of Dirty Harry? The Terminator? Death Wish? Or Bonnie and Clyde? Come on, directors and producers! Give me five minutes, and I come up with ten genuine ideas for a movie. It can't be that hard! Sorry, guys. The rant's over now. Greetings! |

"...is it a kind of dreeeaaam?" ahem. Pass. Mate went to see 21 Jump St (he's a civillian etc) and told me that practically at the start of the film one of the characters makes a mini speech about "how theyve run out of ideas so theyre now just recycling any old shit...." referring of course to the original show. After the painful experience that was the redone Straw Dogs, this will go on the list (along with The Weaker Man) of never watched, never will. A Hex on the producers.....

As a horror movie purist, I usually am against remakes....especially in this PG-13 era right now....Plus most directors now aren't really good at using atmosphere like Argento. But I will say this, and I still can't believe this....but I love Piranha 3D more than any of the originals.....It's the perfect blend of humor, gore and cheez. |
