Maybe they were misinformed?
I've also had it ruined for me I thought but turned out they were wrong.

I hope so!
I thought someone had ruined it for me last night, but that turned out to be wrong so lets hope this was too.

Got one of the very last tickets at a sold-out showing last night. The film was excellent, and the audience lapped it up throughout.

It was really good. Although the killer was spoilt the ending was on par with the original but as a film it was better than 2 and 3.
It was really quite brutal too. Especially for a 15!

I thought some of the death scenes were totally ruined by bad attempts at humour - Bruce Willis/I'm gay to name two examples.

It was ok, it started off well but got progressively more silly as it went on. As others have said, I'd put it on a par with the second one.

Why the disappointment? This is very progressive of the BBFC. Films like this should be rated 15, making way for the more extreme stuff to be 18. If this was an 18, then how do you classify the stronger stuff?

Can't blame the BBFC, they can only rate what's given them - and if Craven has made a film that only warrants a 15-rating, then that's just the way it is.

Plus,15 certificates get away with far more violence than they ever did before.

As my BD set arrived this week,I'll be dragging Mrs Reaps to the cinema sooner rather than later to see this......
Daemonia likes this.

Definitely. I thought it was really violent and that aspect of it certainly wasn't spoiled by being rated 15.

I too thought this was quite good, especially for a title with the number 4 in it. I did feel a bit let down by the ending though, don't know why but was expecting something a bit more clever. Taking into account how difficult it was to lure back Neve Campbell, thought it might have actually been Sydney this time Maybe next time.

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it. I thought the balance of horror and comedy was really effective and, at the moment, I think it's the best of the sequels although still not better than the original.

I was pleasantly surprised by Emma Roberts who I thought was particularly on form, although Courtney Cox seriously needs to lay of the botox and collagen. She could barely open her mouth to speak!
