looks ok

I think it looks ok,

love argento
love horror
love vampires
love a good bad film
love giant insects
not expecting too much
know the masters past his best and will always forgive him for what hes given me in suspiria, inferno, deep red etc
never trust a trailer for judgement.

somebody hit it on the head in I think the dracula poster thread, when they said that if Dario did his psychadelic colours thing, signature camera work etc it would not be appreciated by modern audiences (excpet us of course!) Argento is trying to provide to an audience that wants CG FX at every turn, not his forte me thinks!

Times have moved on and old Darios struggled, but what a legacy he has left us with even if he never churns out a giallo to die for saturated in rainbow colours dripping with graphic deaths.

Long live Argento and bring on Dracula.....naff or not!

so not quite was I was imagining...but yes as someone said its not he finished copy, and often unofficial trailers that someone off the set have got end up using bits of the film that end up being cut etc, so I not getting too worried (yet)

WTF is going on with the mantis / grasshopper thing??????

Stephen@Cult Labs 9th January 2012 02:21 PM

Tbh, I don't think any amount of special effects and music will hide the atrocious acting I just saw in that trailer. Truely shocking!

DontBurnTheWitch 9th January 2012 07:33 PM

I do love a hissing vampire :)

I've been hoping that someone would create new movies based on the classic monsters from Hammer, Universal etc.

I know there is already loads but modern Horror is becoming too obsessed with torture and ghosts.

Let's have a new Creature from the Black Lagoon!

That contained the worst giant mantis...ever - or so I thought!

Hey guys,

Please click on the below link & like my entry for my chance to have this used as the official tagline for Dracula 3D and more importantly go to the Premiere & meet Dario Argento.

Please feel free to share this as well!

Cheers

I just seen a trailer on youtube it dose not look great. At the end of the screen it says visuals are a work in progress so i hope they are. Also there is a giant Mantis in it which has me really worried.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 18th January 2012 11:40 AM

Threads merged and renamed to accommodate both.

As far as I'm concerned, this seemed an ill-conceived project to begin with as I really didn't want to see Argento making a 3D Dracula movie. The woeful acting in that trailer and utterly uninspiring posters haven't raised my expectations one iota.

Demdike@Cult Labs 18th January 2012 12:13 PM

Just a thought.

Whilst praying mantis and bad acting, together with 3d may well be a turn off for us, films like this regularly make mega bucks as the rest of the film watching public seem to love "any old shit".

So if a major studio picks this up for distribution it may well turn out to be a big earner for Argento. His biggest ever most likely.

Selling points -

Dracula
3D
Monsters
Rutger Hauer fresh from his best film in years (Hobo)
