How can anyone not be excited and pleased by the giant mantis?

I presume you haven't seen the Buffy episode "Teacher's Pet"?

That contained the worst giant mantis...ever - or so I thought!

I have seen that episode of "Buffy". It was all the better for a giant insect.

Everything is better with giant insects.

Except for picnics and jam-making.

Yeah, that was pretty brutal. Loads of chat on the DD Argento forum previously about the mantis making an appearance. Folk were unhappy about it but I thought it was a pretty cool idea but worried about how it would be executed. Will hold judgement back until I've seen the final cut.

Terrible lack of close ups in that video as well.

Cool

Hmmm... not much like the novel then, kinda wished he'd do a Argento vibe on the book, looks a tad generic, but he can work wonders.

I would have preferred they forgot about the 3D aspect to be honest.
This is the aspect of the film that perplexes me the most. It's not going to have a nationwide release surely, so most people will miss out on the 3D. My local 'indie' cinema has a 3D setup but I can't imagine it'll be worth their while financially to screen this film.

If a major distributor picks it up, which is possible given its title it may get a shot. I doubt it though as everyone says its rubbish off a workprint trailer. Incidently i'm not going to watch the trailer as it may spoil a good fantasy film. I would prefer to judge the real movie.

I wonder who released this trailer, i doubt the producers are over impressed, must be someone wanting to sabotage the movie.
