Default The Reverend (2011) - British Graphic Novel Horror

When is a film based on a graphic novel not a film based on a graphic novel? When said graphic novel has actually never been released...

This is a rather odd one, based on an unpublished graphic novel, the storyline starts off with God and the Devil (Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Rutger Hauer in the most unsatisfyingly brief of cameos) debating the control of the soul of a young reverend. Somehow though this turns into the Devil's assistant biting the reverend and turning him into a crime fighting vampire. Wasted opportunities abound as the script spends infinitely more time showing the Reverend looking after a prostitute than actually doing anything else.

Pick it up cheap and might be worth seeing once, otherwise, yet another skippable title - The Reverend full review.
