I also enjoyed
The Loved Ones and
Insidious (I haven't seen
Eli) - two films that reignited my interest in, and to not write off, modern horror film making completely - after what had seemed to me like a turgid few years.
Also, in reference to
Vertigo, it's one I haven't seen in a long time, and whilst it isn't anywhere near being my favourite Hitchcock film, I can still remember enjoying it a lot.
