I think the whole white border look fitted in with the slipcase gimmick. I'm inclined to think the newer releases look better without the white border now the slipcases are gone. Still think losing the slipcase/4 artwork design was a shame though. On the other hand they are whacking out a lot more releases now and without all the fancy packaging there's less to hide a crap transfer behind.
