Birmingham born
Hazel Court was the archetypal English rose who lit up everything i've seen her in with her effervescent persona.
In a career beginning in 1944 she starred in many horror / fantasy films most notably Hammer's
The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) and Roger Corman's
The Masque of the Red Death (1964).
Her book
Hazel Court Horror Queen - An Autobiography is a delightful read.
Publicity still from The Raven (1963)
