I think films via disc is here to stay for a good while yet.

Despite subscription services being several years old now, physical media isn't dead by any stretch of the imagination.

Money brought in by physical sales varies from year to year so depending on what is released in said years can grow or shrink revenue.

Take this year. I expect it to make more than last year due to the huge success of SPECTRE for example. We'll see of course, but it took almost 20 years after the birth of dvd to kill off vhs so discs will be around for a long time to come.

I don't think distributors can afford to let the physical market disappear just yet.
