Flesh for Frankenstein (1973).

AP655-andy-warhol-flesh-for-frankenstein-horror-movie-poster.jpg

Baron Frankenstein (Udo Kier) is a wise man. Unlike all previous mad scientists, he knows that "to know dez, Otto, you have to **** life... in ze gall bladder!". His enormous success in creating a new master race (he manages to piece up an utterly good-looking but agonizingly boring female, and a pretty strong male with a nasty mid-coitus ribcage-squeezing habit) leads to mayhem and death, and also results in a few of the bloodiest and/or most ridiculous scenes in the splatter film genre. The baron's sister and wife (played by a rather tattered Monique van Vooren who looks more like Frankenstein's mother) is addicted to sex, a fact that causes a slight problem, as the baron is busy with his zombies and more interested in fresh gall bladders and heads. This is where Nicholas (Joe Dallesandro), a stable boy, comes in. He has no trouble getting it up and so Baroness Katrin Frankenstein can finally get off. Apart from his qualities in bed and to the delight of the viewer, Nicholas is also able to offer exactly one pained facial expression throughout the film.
The film also includes a rather piercing and almost epic final monologue and a nice downbeat ending.
Essential viewing for all masochists and shlock lovers.
