Plus the way the Doctor and Peri interact is beautiful. We first see them in a long sequence, arm in arm, walking through a wood huddled under the same umbrella. Taken out of context if you saw them in the street you'd definitely think they were romantically involved. In fact the only time i've seen anything like it in Doctor Who would be Tennant and Rose.
Colin and Nicola had definite chemistry by this stage. |

I just feel somewhat sorry for poor Colin and that blinking coat of many colors. Any enemy could see him coming 30 miles away, even in the mist.
