I thought you were a fan of The Bed Sitting Room, one I have on my long list, or did I imagine that? I also seem to remember you liking Birdman, which is also cited as absurd because of the inherent contradictions of its central character.

Absurd films don't have to be nonsensical – that's just one part of the definition. My understanding was the definition could include making the mundane silly, just like Monty Python did with organised religion in The Life of Brian or Stanley Kubrick did with the cold war in Dr. Strangelove.
