for reading novels and short stories i use a Kindle mostly. i like to read in bed and the paperwhite is perfect as i can read as long as i like without disturbing the missus. also good for travel and a little discussed advantage of a kindle is that the text is not spread as widely as paperback meaning that you can scan the column more efficiently - i find can read much quicker.

however, i still always have a paperback handy. it always has to be the musty smelling, yellow paged type scoured from a secondhand bookshop. i think its a nostalgia thing, because of the many happy hours as an 8-10 year old searching for the Doctor Who Targets.

for non-fiction, also i have to have a proper book. i cannot imagine reading something like English Gothic on a kindle.
