Aliens is decent but suffers a little from 'Dawn of the Dead' syndrome where it is essentially an action film with some horror chucked in. Alien 3 is probably my second favourite despite the flaws and I never understood the hate for Resurrection. It toys with some interesting ideas, plus has a great cast and some nice set pieces.

Also, the original Alien remains one of my all-time favourite cinema going experiences when I managed to catch it on a re-release in the early 2000s.
I really like the directors cut of Alien 3.

Thought Resurrection was superb when i saw it at the cinema. It was almost Xenomorph porn the way the camera lovingly examined them in their cages on the ship.

It's only let down to me was the hybrid alien, i dunno, it just wasn't necessary. Then there was that swimming sequence. At least one of our party died three times attempting to hold their breath for the length of time characters spent underwater.
