The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953, Charles Crichton)
A joy to behold. When their local branch is considered untenable by local bigwigs, a plucky band of amateurs decide to keep the liine open by volunteering to run the thing. Facing stiff competition from the local bus company, they struggle to maintain a foothold, but it all works out in the end.
A cast of stalwarts abound.
