1917 (2019)

I'm a bit lost for words having just experienced this superb piece of film making.

Film maker Sam Mendes deserves huge credit as does Roger Deakins for phenomenal photography showcasing the sheer horror of WWI. It also felt close to home as Mark Strong's Captain had just left the French town of Bapaume, one of two places my great grandfather fought at during the Great War.

I'll try to say more on a second viewing but a daft thing stuck in my head as the credits rolled.

I wonder if Sherlock knows Moriarty is in a trench just a few miles down the road?
