There were several poverty row western/horror hybrids in the 30s and 40s that were along the lines of phantom outlaws, haunted mines and ranches that turned out to be fronts for criminal activity. Even John Wayne appeared in one called Haunted Gold.
I think Curse of the Undead was the first with overtly supernatural elements | Is it any good though?
