Geoffrey Palmer contributes greatly to my favourite James Bond pre-credits sequence in Tomorrow Never Dies.
Palmer's Admiral Roebuck orders the Navy to fire a Cruise missile from HMS Chester at an arms deal taking place with 'half the world's terrorists' in Pakistan's Khyber Pass. Bond is close to the scene and reports there are two nuclear torpedoes at the site, and orders the Cruise missile aborted.
But it's too late, it can't be stopped.
Bond (Pierce Brosnan) launches into action...
Roebuck - "What the hell's your man doing?"
M (Judi Dench) sternly glances at Roebuck "His Job!"
Thrilling stuff!
