Which Bond do you prefer Stephen?

I much prefer Craig's 'halfway to a psycho' than the old-school chancers!

Timothy Dalton. No contest.

Timothy Dalton was definitely the best actor ever to play Bond. You don't become a member of the RSC by accident.

I like his portrayal of Bond very much. He's a tough guy, but still with quite a bit of charism.

Craig's ice-cold killer Bond - sorry, not my cup of tea.

Greetings!

Um...wouldn't that make it in your top 3?

I am of the opinion Dalton was probably the best Bond (although Lazenby was in for my money the best Bond film). But I also think Craig's current Bond is probably the closest to the "sophisticated thug" of the early Fleming novels. In some sense Dalton's outings as Bond were a similar attempt to take the character back to his literary roots. Unfortunately I don't think audiences were ready for it at the time.

I love Dalton and his two films but he's not my favourite, probably joint with Craig after Connery for me, then Brosnan, Moore and Lazenby last. I do love OHMSS though.

Skyfall is a milestone in Bond history for me, it easily ranges up there at the very top, with the Daltons and From Russia and Goldfinger. But as much as I liked Dalton as Bond, he never replaces Connery on my envisioning of James Bond - Craig has now inheritted that from Sean - not only because both can be as easily be recognized by the shape of their ears

Skyfall has fantastic pictures (unshaky ones as well!), great acting, wonderful references to the old films (how suitable for the anniversary!) and a very good and deep story - well done!

I've just been to see it finally and loved it, what a fantastic Bond film! This and Quantum of Solace are at opposite ends of the spectrum. 4.5/5.
