Best Bond film is easily You Only Live Twice.

It's got everything great about Bond... Connery, brilliant gadgets, hot women, ninjas, spaceships that eat other spaceships, Donald Pleasance Blofeld, a script written by Roald Dahl, and an awesome theme song.

They're showing them in HD next week on Sky... cannot wait!

This "Bond film" was not part of the franchise produced by MGM and Danjaq. Kevin McClory, who was producer and co-writer of Thunderball (1965), won a legal battle against Ian Fleming to make his own Bond movie. The settlement stipulated that it had to effectively be a remake of Thunderball.

Personally I preferred the 1967 Casino Royale to Never Say Never Again. :)

It's not bad. Very good in parts. A bit too overlong though and the film seemed to lack a particularly convincing or threatening villain.

The 1967 spoof had a Bacharach score and a cast that included Orson Cart.... I mean Welles, Alexandra Bastedo, Stirling Moss, Ronnie Corbett, RSM Ron Brittain, George Raft and Dave Prowse as the Frankenstein monster. How could anyone resist that? :D

Critically not as well but I gather it's the top grossing Bond now.

My wife favours Daniel Craig (Surprise, surprise!) and as his Bonds were the only (!) two action movies she most willingly wanted to watch, I guess I owe it to the man to call him the Bond actor easiest to agree on in my household:popcorn:

The series needs a really good new villian though. There's never been a serious contender since "Licence to Kill"'s Franz Sanchez!

Sanchez and Red Grant were the best two villains in the series.
