Quantum Of Solace (Marc Forster, 2008)

Anyone else anticipating this one as much as me? The trailer went online today. Check it out here.

Looks surprisingly similar to the last film but then I had a whale of a time watching it so more of the same is fine by me!

Paul@TheOverlook 30th June 2008 01:27 PM

Yeah, it looks quite gritty - I'm really looking forward to this - It has the potential to be every bit as enjoyable as the last one.

Bond going rogue.Seems to share simularities with Licence To Kill one of my favourite films in the series. One of mates found Casino Royale boring but I really enjoyed it.

Paul@TheOverlook 30th June 2008 01:54 PM

I can't imagine CASINO ROYALE being done any better than it was ? the Eon guys really need to give the character a kick into touch after all the shenanigans that went on in the latter Brosnan flicks. It's funny you mention LICENCE TO KILL, mate, because?Like Daniel Craig with QUANTUM OF SOLACE?that film was Timothy Dalton's second Bond film, following on from LIVING DAYLIGHTS, which was also something of a franchise overhaul after the wackiness of the latter Roger Moore flicks.

I really liked Dalton as Bond and I love LICENCE TO KILL; it's really quite gritty and even nasty in places.

Yes Dalton was really underrated & though I prefer LTK of his two Bond films The Living Daylights was still a welcome return to form for the series with some outstanding setpieces. My wife hates the films but even she enjoyed LTK and regards Dalton as the best Bond she's seen.

Dalton was my favourite Bond. Oddly my top Bond movie was Lazenby's OHMSS. Still an amazing film even now.

I am an uber Bond fan. They hold a lot of great memories (not least Britt Ekland and Maud Adams in TMWTGG)

I love em all and think each actor has their own strong points

Best I join the row and confess that "Licence to Kill" is my fave Bond movie, too.

I have started to watch the whole Bond series a good while back, but so far I couldn't get myself to face "Tomorrow Never Dies" again....so my "project" has been in slumber for over half a year now.:D
But I want to get to "Casino Royale" before the new flick arrives, there's only still too much Brosnan to sit through first for my liking:jest:

There are films coming out that aren't The Dark Knight?

As much as I thought Casino Royale was... fine, it really made it apparent that Bond films clearly aren't for me. And this looks really quite similar to that film.
