That was back in my journalist days - invariably the smaller B-stars were way more fun - Maggie Q, Richard Norton, Mark Dacascos and Gary Daniels (who is in The Expendables with Sly) were all very cool, self-deprecating and hard-working.

Yeah I saw a leaked Expendables trailer on youtube last night but the quality was that bad I couldn't even tell if Gary daniels made an appearance

Any idea who owns the rights to HKL's back catalogue now that they're defunct? And i wonder if we'll ever see U.K. Blu-Ray editions of some of the Bruce and Jackie hits sooner rather than later. It would've also been interesting to see if HKL would've dabbled in the new format had they not gone under. |

Can't say I do - I suspect a lot of the rights would now be reverting back to the original holders - it's been a few years with some of these titles.

I heard the rights are now with magazine co DeAgostini.

Yeah, they signed up for them around 2005 I think.

If DeAgostini did indeed nab the rights four years ago then does anybody reckon their time may be running short before ownership is up for grabs again? It's a shame that so much great HK entertainment remains in such a depleted state of availablility in the U.K. and i do wish (among many others here i suspect) that those Asian actioners we all know and love were given a new lease of life over here. |

How long did the HKL magazine run for? Could be that the rights ran out once that was over |
