I still can't see CineAsia spending any money on these releases. They are releasing them because they have the rights to. It's good news to us collectors to get back at those sharks charging over the odds for HKL DVD's on Amazon and ebay. I just hope they add films like Hapkido to the list. It's currently selling for silly money when it should be available to all at a reasonable price.

And yes, Premier Asia and HKL were the same company. Each advertising the other's releases. One offering specifically Hong Kong based films, the other dealing with film from other Asian regions.

I don't think they will either. They seem to be straight re-releases with the same extras. Good news for those of us still missing some titles.

Wish I'd have held onto my copy of Meals on Wheels, as well as some of the other HKL stuff I got rid of. Still have my copy of Hapkido though.

I'll put my hand up as a nutter who spent around £25+ on a copy from ebay! And I bet it gets re-released now.

Watched Little Big Soldier recently, really enjoyed it, not the usual Asian Jackie Chan action epic. It was quite an amusing story about a friendship against the odds.

I just hope these re-release will use new masters where available because some HKL titles were a step down when compared to some Asian masters...

Prodigal Son is a good example of that...

HKL vs Savoy (german edition that uses the Fortune Star master)
Bullets 'n' Babes DVD • View topic - The Prodigal Son Region 2 HKL Vs Region 2 Savoy

I have two editions of many Asian titles because of that...
HKL for the extras and other editions for the picture quality.

Default Seoul Raiders

I recently picked up the HKL release of Seoul Raiders and I have a question for anyone here who may already own a copy. I'm used to HKL DVDs having sleeves with information printed onto both sides so that when the clear cases are opened you can read certain information, such as chapter information and other available titles. In the case of this DVD, the sleeve features printing on the outer side of the sleeve only and features a black case. Is that normal or have I managed to pick up a bootleg of some description?
