Default 80's NINJA FILMS

While looking at action DVDs on Amazon i noticed there were a lot of ninja films, the one that caught my attention the most was this one called Golden Ninja Warrior.

The ident for the company that made it, used the star wars theme at the beginning.

If you know of any other bad Ninja flicks, Post them on here....

Ninja Mission is bad. It was made in Sweden in the 80's and includes some of the worst 'acting' I have ever seen, bad camerawork and a terrible score.

ENTER THE NINJA
GYMKATA

Just spotted this thread. I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad 80's ninja film!

Most of the best BAD Ninja flicks are IFD productions. They are usually cut and paste films (often listed as being Directed by Godfrey Ho and featuring Richard Harrison.) where they take an obscure Hong Kong or Taiwanese kung fu/gangster film and insert some white guy Ninja action. Sometimes the link between the two stories does not exist at all. Titles to watch out for include:-
Ninja Terminator
Ninja The Protector
Ninja Squad
Ninja Dragon

I recentl saw Golden Ninja Warrior and I think I posted comments in the recently watched thread. No matter how bad you may think it looks by the trailer it cannot prepare you for how bad it actually is. In the right mood it is fun, as most of the cut and paste are. Just don't expect too much.

Surprised you missed the hugely enjoyable NINJA 3-THE DOMINATION from that little lot Reaps, though THE LAST NINJA (1985) a TVM starring Michael 'Warriors' Beck was also pretty good .Chuck Norris & Lee Van Cleef were also in the pretty good Ninja film THE OCTAGON in 1980.
Two of the worst I've seen are NINJA IN THE KILLING FIELDS & SAKURA KILLERS starring a very old Chuck Connors, though it's quite funny unintentionally.

There was also THE MASTER,a US tv series starring Lee Van Cleef who was far to old for the part though Sho Kosugi was well used.Shame his NINE DEATHS OF THE NINJA was so poor thanks to the awful jokey script.RAGE OF HONOUR directed by Gordon Hessler who made one of the best ever Ninja films PRAY FOR DEATH was a considerable improvement,& is available on r1 dvd from MGM with the excellent REVENGE OF THE NINJA.

Here is an interview with Richard Harrison, where he talks about the HK films (among other things).

"The experience made me feel very dirty. I really felt like a prostitute."
